Mayfairsilk silk scrunchies and slim hair ties

Silk hair ties, with a softer touch

The part of a hair tie that touches your hair matters. Our silk hair ties and scrunchies have a smooth Mulberry silk covering around a strong elastic core. That soft surface helps reduce the friction and tugging you can feel when removing an ordinary hair elastic. They are designed for a secure, comfortable hold, with colours you can wear every day.

Slim hair ties or silk scrunchies?

Choose slim hair ties when you want a discreet finish around a ponytail, braid or small bun. At approximately 1 cm wide, they give less volume at the tie. Fuller silk scrunchies, approximately 2.5 cm wide, add a softer statement and look lovely around a loose up-do. Both styles are offered in sets of three; check the individual product for the exact colour combination.

The pure silk covering is the hair-contacting fabric; the elastic inside provides the stretch. Choose the size and number of loops that feel secure without pulling your hairstyle too tightly.

Choose for your hair and hairstyle

For fine hair, start with a slim tie and test a comfortable hold. For thick or curly hair, a fuller scrunchie may suit the look you want. Everyone's hair is different: thickness, length and the style you are creating affect the fit. Avoid forcing an extra loop if the tie already feels tight.

Colour for everyday, prints for personality

Champagne, Precious Pink and Midnight Blue can move easily between work, weekends and evenings. Charcoal and Oyster Grey offer a quieter palette, while printed sets add a more expressive finish. Wear a scrunchie around your wrist when your hair is down, ready for the moment you need it.

A coordinated trio is a useful small gift for a friend, a birthday or a thank-you. Pair a colour with a silk pillowcase for a bedtime routine, or browse silk gift sets for ready-made combinations. The product page shows exactly which pieces are included.

Keep your silk accessories fresh

Follow the care instructions for your set. When washing is needed, hand wash gently in cool water with a silk-suitable detergent, following the label. Reshape carefully and air dry away from direct heat. Do not use bleach or fabric conditioner. Keeping a set of three means you can rotate between a handbag, bedside table and dressing table.

Silk is a fibre; satin describes a weave. A satin accessory is not necessarily silk, so check the material rather than the shine alone. Our accessories use pure Mulberry silk as their outer covering. Choose a comfortable hold to help reduce tension and pulling as you style.

A comfortable hold, from morning to night

Compared with regular hair ties, the smooth silk fabric gives strands a gentler surface to move against. The aim is to hold your hair securely with less tension, whether you wear it straight, curly, thick or fine. For a loose bedtime braid or ponytail, choose enough grip to hold the shape comfortably without pulling at the scalp. Let your hair texture and hairstyle guide the fit.

Your questions, answered

What is the difference between slim hair ties and scrunchies?

Slim ties are approximately 1 cm wide and give a discreet finish. Scrunchies are approximately 2.5 cm wide and create a fuller look. Both have a silk covering and elastic core; choose the style that suits your hair and hairstyle.

Are silk hair ties suitable for fine or curly hair?

They can be used across different hair types. The hold depends on hair thickness, length and the style. Use a comfortable number of loops and avoid tying hair too tightly.

How many are in a set?

Scrunchies and slim hair ties are generally sold in sets of three. Check the selected product page for the exact quantity and colour combination.

Are these made from silk or synthetic satin?

The outer covering is pure Mulberry silk. The elastic inside supplies stretch. Satin describes a weave and can be made from different fibres, so a satin label alone does not establish that an accessory is silk.
